The Intermediate Phase at St.Declan's builds upon the sound foundations laid by the Foundation Phase.
Critical thinking and application of knowledge become the focus of attention, as subjects become more specialized and additional disciplines are included in the curriculum, such as Natural and Social Sciences, Robotics and Life Skills.
During the Intermediate Phase, boys become more independent and clearer about their own interests, whilst maturing both cognitively and socially. Our learners are thus approached holistically as we endeavour to develop them into fine young men who hold themselves confidently both in and out of the classroom.
The partnership between home and school is an integral part of developing our learners, and we encourage open communication and involvement between the parents and St.Declan's. St.Declan's follows the National Curriculum Assessment Policy Statements (CAPS).
